Business analysis

At the business analysis stage we want to help you ensure that the system will deliver the right functionality to the right users in the right way. So at this stage we use Stakeholder Analysis and Competitor Analysis.

Requirements capture

At the requirements capture stage, we want to help you understand your users, their tasks and the environment in which they work. At this stage we carry out Contextual Inquiry, User Interviews and Task Analysis. The information we collect is expressed in the form of Personas, Mood Boards and Scenarios.

Design

During the design phase, we work with your development team to create a system that meets the business and user requirements. We achieve this by using Key Performance Indicators to set usability goals for the system. We use Card Sorting to specify the information architecture and Paper Prototyping to develop a wireframe design. We develop Style Guides to help developers implement the designs consistently.

Testing

During the testing phase, we want to check that the usability goals are being met. At this stage, we use usability expert reviews and usability testing. For Usability Inspections we favour Heuristic Analysis, Cognitive Walkthroughs and Standards (or Style Guide) Inspections. For Usability Testing, we use the Thinking Aloud technique as well as Performance Measurement. Our usability testing also includes the use of the Desirability Toolkit to collect subjective comments.
